As the third oldest Indian restaurant on the "Bödeli", we are happy to be back in Interlaken after a break. Our authentic cuisine is unmistakable thanks to the great emphasis on quality and halal-certified dishes.

A restaurant with a unique history

Bilal Butt - owner, managing director and head chef of Shalimar - learned to cook for himself when he was a refugee far from his motherland in the 90s. At that time he first started to cook for his family and friends. But more people became fascinated by his cuisine.

Thanks to his dedication and talent, Bilal soon became an even better cook than his family in Pakistan. In 2002 he finally opened the Shalimar Restaurant on the Höheweg in Interlaken. After just a few years, the restaurant became internationally known.

Quality

All of our dishes are freshly prepared. On the one hand, this allows us to adjust the spiciness exactly to your liking. And in the case of allergies, intolerances and special diets, we can respond to you in the best possible way - just let us know about it! On the other hand, we reduce food waste in this way, which corresponds to our values. What also corresponds to our values is that our products are as regional as possible and halal. In the kitchen, hygiene is extremely important to us. We put all our heart and soul into our dishes and looking after our guests. If something should not fit, we ask you to address this directly. This allows us to adjust your dish, improve it directly or accommodate you if necessary.
